How Fastbraces Are Different Than Traditional Braces
Fastbraces® can address many of the same bite issues traditional braces can be used to fix in about half the time. These devices have been used for over 30 years, and they are safe for children and adults. These appliances have many similarities to traditional metal braces, like the placement of brackets on each of the patient’s teeth, but it is the subtle differences that make Fastbraces a more effective way to straighten teeth.
The differences between Fastbraces and traditional braces
Let us take a look at some of the differences between traditional braces and Fastbraces:
1. Triangular brackets
The triangular brackets that come with Fastbraces are the most significant factors that lead to shorter treatment times that can be as little as three months. Traditional metal braces come with square brackets that move the top part of the patient’s teeth during the first half and teeth roots during the second half. This naturally doubles the length of the patient’s treatment. Fastbraces come with triangular brackets that gently move teeth and their roots at the same time.
2. Cheaper
Fastbraces shorten treatment times, which often leads to lower dental bills compared to straightening teeth with traditional braces or clear aligners. Treatments with Fastbraces cost about 20% less on average compared to traditional braces.
3. Fast treatments
Fastbraces help patients to reach their smile makeover goals in less time. That is a huge deal for people looking to transform their smile for a special occasion like their wedding. Fastbraces cut treatment times in half, increasing the patient's odds of reaching their smile makeover goal on time.
4. Improved aesthetics and comfort
Fastbraces give patients a subtler way to straighten teeth than traditional metal braces while making the experience more comfortable. The wires used for Fastbraces are more flexible than those that come with traditional braces, leading to less sensitivity as the patient’s teeth are pushed to an improved alignment. Tooth-colored or clear triangular brackets can be used with Fastbraces to make it harder to notice the appliance in the patient’s mouth.
5. Less need for retainers
Clear braces significantly reduce how long patients have to use a retainer after straightening their teeth. Retainers are oral appliances that help to keep teeth in their new position after they have been straightened.
People who straighten their teeth with traditional braces often have to wear retainer overnight or a few hours daily. Those who get treatment with Fastbraces only have to wear retainers for around 20 minutes daily.
Put your bite issues behind you
Teeth alignment issues can ruin the way your smile looks, and they increase your risk of developing tooth decay or gum disease. They can also restrict your ability to enjoy a wide range of foods. Fastbraces braces allow you to improve the alignment of your teeth without having to deal with traditional braces for up to two years.
With Fastbraces, your teeth can be aligned correctly in as little as three months. Give us a call or visit our Oak Ridge clinic to learn more about these appliances.
